Over the course of her accomplished career in academia and health care, Amy Brooks-Kayal has gone above and beyond to level the playing field in neurology.

On Feb. 20, Brooks-Kayal received the 2025 Women & Philanthropy Impact Award in recognition of her commitment to elevating others. The award ceremony was hosted by members of the Women & Philanthropy Advisory Council.

Give Day Sets New Fundraising Record

The spirit of Give Day was in full swing as the 51�ԹϺ�� Davis community rallied together for the ninth annual celebration, held over Picnic Day weekend. With more than 4,100 donations made both online and in person, this year’s event raised nearly $4.5 million — surpassing the previous dollar amount record of $4.1 million set in 2022.

The 2025 51�ԹϺ�� Davis Medal will be awarded to Michael C. and Renée Z. Child, who have dedicated themselves to the University of California, Davis, and their communities throughout their lives.

The alumni couple, who met as undergraduates in the early 1970s, have remained deeply committed to 51�ԹϺ�� Davis, volunteering their leadership and insight to advance many areas of the university.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the university raised a historic amount in the last fiscal year: a record $269.4 million from 36,016 donors, with an all-time high of 63,650 gifts and pledges.
