Coffee Industry Leaders Give Major Collections to 51�ԹϺ�� Davis Library

The University of California, Davis, has received three significant collections of coffee-related materials that together illuminate the history, science and global impact of specialty coffee.

The donations to the 51�ԹϺ�� Davis Library are from Gerald “Jerry” Baldwin, co-founder of Starbucks and former president of Peet’s Coffee; Russ Kramer, president of Hacienda La Minita and veteran of Green Mountain Coffee; and the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

The first place you’ll see Peet’s on the Davis campus is The Market in the remodeled Memorial Union, which opens Monday (May 1). King Hall Coffee and Scrubs Café will start selling Peet’s no later than July 1, but the biggest switchovers — turning two Starbucks stores into Peet’s — will take longer.

Peet’s can start working on the ARC location on July 1, and the project should take about four weeks.
