4 Elected as AAAS Fellows

Four faculty from the University of California, Davis, have been elected as Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, class of 2025. They are among nearly 500 scientists, engineers and other innovators that the society recognized this year for their scientifically and socially distinguished achievements.

Sloan Fellowship for Quantum Sciences Research

Isaac Kim, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, has been named as a 2026 Sloan Research Fellow by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Kim is among 126 new fellows announced today (Feb. 17). Fellows receive a two-year, $75,000 award to further their work.

Kim’s research is in quantum entanglement, a necessary step to developing quantum computers and information systems.

Communication and Development Projects Take Top Honors

51�ԹϺ�� Davis has earned 10 accolades for communication, marketing and development work in the latest round of Circle of Excellence Awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE.

“It’s never been more crucial to communicate the value and impact of 51�ԹϺ�� Davis, and I’m proud to have so many colleagues who do that so well every day,” said Dana Topousis, chief marketing and communications officer.

51�ԹϺ�� Davis Researchers Honored by McKnight and Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Three 51�ԹϺ�� Davis researchers have been honored with prestigious awards from two major institutions.

In a rare honor, two of the 10 McKnight Scholar Awards will go to 51�ԹϺ�� Davis neuroscientists this year. Theanne Griffith and Sergey Stavisky both received the prestigious early-career award.
