Donate in May to Food Drive for Staff and Retirees

Several organization at 51�ԹϺ�� Davis are teaming up for a staff and retiree food drive in May.

The food drives held each fall on campus have taken on additional importance this year as members of the 51�ԹϺ�� Davis community face uncertainty over whether federally funded food assistance will continue, and there are numerous ways for faculty and staff to help.

HOLIDAY PET BASKETS — 51�ԹϺ�� Davis’ Mercer Clinic elves have issued their annual appeal for food and treats, toys and brushes, and coats and sweaters for dogs and cats belonging to homeless people.

The basket project is an all-volunteer effort started 23 years ago by staff members of the 51�ԹϺ�� Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Most of the original Mercer elves are still at it — even those who have retired — and newer staff members have joined in.
