Plan your transfer admission
Admission to university as a community college transfer is a cost-effective way to earn your bachelor's degree. A successful transfer requires thoughtful research and a plan to make sure you're ready for the rigors of upper-division studies at a top-tier university. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis and the University of California offer several resources to help you position yourself for admission to a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus.
Transfer Admission Guarantee, or TAG
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis TAG assures your admission to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis, one year before your planned enrollment. As a California Community College, or CCC, student, you use the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ TAP to apply for a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis TAG in September, the fall before you plan to enroll at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis.
Transfer Opportunity Program, or TOP
TOP is an advising program that puts a committed 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Undergraduate Admissions advisor on select CCC campuses to help you with career and transfer planning.
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Transfer Pathways
The University of California's roadmap helps you prepare for any of the universities’ most popular majors. It standardizes all the preparatory coursework required by all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campuses.
ASSIST and transferable coursework
Identify which CCC courses transfer or fulfill requirements for admission, general education or your major with the website. This is the official articulation database for California's public colleges and universities.
Students that attend college outside the CCC system compare your college’s course descriptions to similar or another 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus. There's a good chance the coursework is 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable, if the course descriptions are similar.
Select a general education pattern
Your selection of a general education, or GE, pattern is an important decision required for graduation and one that guarantees a well-rounded education. Choose either Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum, known as IGETC, or the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis GE pattern. Keep in mind that completion of a GE pattern is required for graduation not required for admission.
Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum, or IGETC
is available to students who transfer from a CCC and allows them to complete the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ or California State University general education requirements. Students who choose the IGETC pattern should complete it at their CCC. Students successfully admitted to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis should submit a certificate of IGETC completion to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Undergraduate Admissions before they enroll.
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis General Education pattern
The is required for transfer students from institutions other than a CCC and those who do not choose to complete the IGETC pattern. This pattern is best for students who apply to majors with a high number of lower-division requirements.
