51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee requirements 

The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee, known as TAG, is a written agreement that guarantees admission to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis in a specific major from any California Community College, or CCC.

All majors except business, computer science and data science are open to TAG. Students interested in these majors must apply through the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ application (open October through November) and meet selective major requirements.

Pass or Credit grades are only allowed in lieu of letter grades for coursework in winter, spring and summer 2020 terms. Refer to the additional selective major TAG requirements in the corresponding areas below.


Apply for a TAG

  1. Use the , known as TAP, to start your TAG application.
  2. Review it with your
  3. Submit the TAG application by Sept. 30 via 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ TAP.
  4. Review your TAG decision after mid-November.
  5. Submit the by the Dec. 1 deadline. Ensure the major is the same in BOTH your TAG application and the regular 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ undergraduate application.
  6. Submit a .

TAG conditions 

Review the TAG conditions below to ensure you meet all requirements. Deadlines listed are for students applying for fall 2027 enrollment.       

Enrollment

  • Plan to complete 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units) at one or more CCC's by the end of spring term 2027.
  • Ensure the last college you attended in a regular session is a CCC.
  • Complete no more than 19 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable units (semester or quarter) in spring term 2027 or last term prior to reaching junior standing.


Units

Complete by end of summer 2026:

  • Minimum 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units)

Complete by the end of spring term 2027:

  • Minimum 60 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (90 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units)
  • Minimum 30 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester-units (45 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable quarter-units) of overall units must be from a CCC


TAG GPA requirements

Students must earn the required minimum GPA for their major by end of summer 2026.

  • Earn at least a 3.20 GPA in all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable coursework for all majors in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the College of Biological Sciences and the College of Letters and Science.
  • Earn at least a 3.50 GPA in all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable coursework and major preparation courses for all majors in the College of Engineering.

Additional GPA requirements:

  • Meet any additional GPA requirements for selective major by  the end of summer 2026 with  no grade lower than a C in all 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable coursework.
  • Must earn no grade lower than C in the current fall, winter and or spring terms and remain in good academic standing. 


51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E, 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-M and 7-course pattern

  • Complete minimum two English composition courses, or 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E.
    • Complete at least one 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E by the end of fall term 2026.
    • The second 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-E may be in progress for spring 2027.
  • Complete mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning course, or 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-M, by end of fall term 2026
  • Complete four courses from at least two of the following subject areas by the end of spring 2027:
    • Arts and Humanities, or 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-H
    • Social and Behavioral Sciences, or 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-B
    • Physical and Biological Sciences, or 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-S

Eligibility restrictions 

You are not eligible for TAG, if you:

  • Are enrolled in high school at the time of TAG submission or you graduate the fall or spring prior to transferring.
  • Earned a bachelor, graduate or professional degree
  • Were previously enrolled at a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ campus and left not in good standing
  • Were  at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis during a regular term (this excludes summer)

Selective major requirements for TAG

Certain majors are considered selective and call for additional requirements for all applicants. 

TAG requirements may exceed these selective major requirements — students must fulfill both selective major and TAG requirements. You must complete selective major course requirements as outlined by the end of spring term prior to transfer. You must earn and maintain the minimum required GPAs for your major by the time you apply.

Reporting coursework  

Report all coursework, this includes international coursework, on the TAG and 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ application, regardless if it is considered transferable or if you do not want any credit.

Lower division unit limitations 

Students who attended colleges or universities other than a CCC must hold fewer than 80 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ-transferable semester units (120 quarter units) overall for TAG eligibility after 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ lower-division unit limitations and exclusions.  for more information.
