Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi leads the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis delegation again to Sacramento for the biannual 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Day at the Capitol, next Tuesday (March 19).
Delegates from around the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ system will advocate for, among other things, approval of Gov. Jerry Brown’s proposed budget (which includes a 5 percent increase in 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ funding); and a specific allocation, similar to the support provided to the California State University system and the community colleges, for the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Retirement Plan should there be sufficient one-time dollars available.
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis delegation is scheduled to gather for an 8 a.m. briefing at the 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Center Sacramento, and participate in morning and afternoon rounds of legislative briefings. President Mark G. Yudof is due to address the entire 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ delegation during lunch in a tent on the Capitol grounds.
