Aggies are movin' again
The Aggies on the Move program is being reinvigorated, and instead of being all about walking, Aggies on the Move will now focus on many forms of movement, the organizers said.
The program itself has done some moving of its own, from Campus Recreation to WorkLife and Wellness, which is part of Human Resources.
The new Aggies on the Move is scheduled to begin with a brown bag on Wednesday, March 9, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Cabernet Room at the Silo.
The organizers said they have invited Lou Bronzan, assistant director of the campuss Physical Education Program, to give a motivational message about exercise, and to discuss the multifaceted health benefits of being physically active.
He will address concerns and obstacles of exercise, and how to easily incorporate exercise into your life and lifestyle, the organizers said.
They said Bronzan will map out exercise alternatives and, in recognition of the history of Aggies on the Move, he will emphasize the simple act of walking. The first 60 participants will receive free pedometers, the organizers said. Then, during the noon hour on Wednesday, March 16, people are invited to participate in a guided walk.
The organizers announced future lunchtime programs as follows:
- Zumba (dance-fitness program) Thursday, March 31
- Running Shoes and Sports Bras Tuesday, April 12
- Four on the Floor for the Core Thursday, May 12
- How to Maintain Strength and Improve Tone to be announced
In addition, Aggies on the Move will promote participation in the annual Thank Goodness for Staff Fun Run and Walk (Tuesday, May 10) and the second annual 51勛圖窪蹋 Walks event (Wednesday, May 18).
