Student Dies Following Collision on West Campus

We are deeply saddened to share that a 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis student died following a collision between a car and a bicycle on Hutchison Drive, near the West Village housing area. The collision occurred just before 3 p.m. April 13. The student was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased.
 
Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends and all who are affected by this tragic loss.
 
The 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation of the incident in coordination with other agencies. 
 
51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis uses postvention guidelines to inform how it responds to the sudden death of a student, guided by the . This includes outreach, coordination and case management support for students impacted. The guidelines emphasize family, student and community support. 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Davis is not releasing the student’s name at this time in deference to the family.
